Wellness Policy

Welcome to Our Wellness Policy Page

At Beaufort County School District, we believe that wellness is the foundation of a thriving, productive, and engaged community.  Our Wellness Policy reflects our commitment to fostering a supportive environment that promotes students’ health, well-being, and ability to learn. In alignment with the USDA Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) final rule, our district has developed a comprehensive Wellness Policy that reflects our commitment to student wellness. Our Policies, SS-42 and SS-42E can be found in the Resources Section below.

Our Wellness Committee—comprised of a School Board Member, Administrators, Nurses, Teachers, Parents, Students, Dietitians, and Medical Professionals—meets annually to review and update the policy. The public is welcome to participate. If you’re interested in joining the committee, please email Tonya Crosby at tonya.crosby@beaufortschools.net.

Key Areas of Our Wellness Policy Include:

  • Nutrition Education
  • Physical Activity
  • Other school-based activities designed to promote student wellness

One of our goals is to share the message of nutrition and wellness through our website and social media sites.  Our site provides information on nutrition and fitness for teachers, parents, and students, as well as a variety of learning tools.
