BCSD announces 2026-27 Principal and Assistant Principal of the Year
The Beaufort County School District proudly announced its 2026-27 Principal and Assistant Principal of the Year at the district’s back-to-school professional development day on July 31 at Bluffton High School.
Brenda Blue of Pritchardville Elementary School has been named the District Principal of the Year. Cassandra Ryman of Hilton Head Island Elementary IB School has been named the District Assistant Principal of the Year.

"Our Principal of the Year and Assistant Principal of the Year exemplify the very best of educational leadership," said Superintendent Frank Rodriguez. "Through their commitment to excellence, they inspire students to achieve, empower teachers to grow, and build school communities where everyone can thrive.”
Principal Blue said the honor was really a reflection of her team. “We have such a strong collaborative culture at Pritchardville,” she said. “It doesn't matter if you work in the front office, any grade level. We are all here for each other, and more importantly, we're here for our students.”
Ryman also applauded her school’s teachers and staff for their support. “I'm honored to have this privilege to be assistant principal of the year,” she said. “It's really a testament to the wonderful community that I work with and the staff who make my job so much easier. I couldn't do it without them.”
The selection process for these prestigious awards involved peer nominations and applications. The winners were chosen for their exceptional dedication and positive impact on their schools.
The Principal of the Year will now have the opportunity to compete at the state level, showcasing the outstanding leadership that defines Beaufort County.
