Beaufort County School District Invites Community to Participate in the 2026 District Dash

BEAUFORT, S.C. — The Beaufort County School District is inviting the community to lace up their running shoes for the 2026 District Dash, a community race designed to promote health, wellness, and school spirit.

 

The event will take place at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Coligny Beach on Hilton Head Island and will feature race options for participants of all ages. Race timing will be provided by Palmetto Running Company.

 

Race options include:

•             NEW! Half-Mile Kids Dash (Ages 7 & under): $10

•             Student 5K (Ages 7–17): $15

•             Adult 5K Run/Walk: $20

 

Participants can choose the school they are representing during registration. Families with students at multiple schools may choose more than one. The three schools with the highest participation will receive a wellness funding prize to support their school’s MUSC Wellness Program. Medals will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each age group and a stroller division.

 

The District Dash is part of the district’s broader commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles and physical activity for students and families across Beaufort County.

 

Important registration dates include:

•             April 20: Last day to guarantee a race shirt with registration.

•             May 1: Race prices increase.

•             May 6: Registration closes.
