Beaufort County School District to Host “Let’s Talk Attendance” Community Meetings
BEAUFORT –Beaufort County School District (BCSD) invites families and community members to attend a series of community meetings, “Let’s Talk Attendance” focused on helping families better understand student attendance guidelines and available supports.
These meetings are designed to provide clarity around how attendance is tracked, what is required by state and district policy, and how families can stay informed and supported. Regular attendance plays a critical role in student learning, and BCSD is committed to partnering with families to ensure students are present, engaged, and successful.
During each meeting, families will:
- Learn how attendance policies work and what is expected at every grade level
- Receive step-by-step instructions on how to use PowerSchool to view their child’s attendance, monitor absences and tardies, and stay informed about their student’s progress
- Explore community resources available to support students and families, including assistance with transportation, health needs, and other barriers that may affect attendance
Whether a family has questions about excused absences, needs help navigating attendance tools, or is looking for additional support, all are encouraged to attend and be part of the conversation.
