Board of Education approves school calendar for 2024-25 and 2025-26 academic years

BEAUFORT – The Beaufort County Board of Education has approved the district’s academic calendar for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 school years.  

Five options (to include modified year-round, and one traditional) for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 academic calendars were put forth to parents, educators, and the community to provide feedback. The majority expressed a preference for a modified year-round option (#2) for both years which is what the Board of Education subsequently approved.

As a result of the newly adopted modified year-round calendars, school will start on August 7, 2024, a week and a half earlier than last year. The modified option allows for two months of summer break in June and July, in addition to smaller breaks during the year.

 

 

“We recognize that the district calendar impacts many key stakeholders, to include educators, students, families, businesses, and community members,” said Superintendent Dr. Frank Rodriguez. “It was important for us to release two years’ worth of calendars, instead of just one, so families, educators, and the community can plan ahead accordingly.”
