Board of Education schedules community public forums for 2025-26 budget plans

BEAUFORT – Two public forums are scheduled for educators, parents, and community members to learn more about the school district budget being developed by the Beaufort County Board of Education for the 2025-26 school year.

The first forum will be Bluffton High School at 6 p.m., Wednesday, April 30. The second will be at Beaufort High School at 6 p.m., Thursday, May 1.

Participants at each forum will hear a presentation on the budget and have a chance to work in small groups to explore various areas of the budget. Participants will be able to share their discussions and suggestions.

“We recognize that input from our key stakeholders is an important part of the budget process,” said Superintendent Frank Rodriguez. “We look forward to hearing from our community members, parents, and employees at our public budget forums.”

Individuals who are unable to attend can also view the proposed budget and provide feedback through BCSD Connected at https://connectbeaufortschools.org/. The FY 2025-26 Budget Process feedback forum will be open through March 7.

The Board hopes to officially certify the district’s 2025-26 budget at its May 20 meeting. Beaufort County Council’s current timeline calls for three readings, with the third and final reading of the district’s budget taking place on June 23, 2025.
