District announces new Montessori program at HHI Early Childhood Center

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC– Beaufort County School District (BCSD) invites families to learn more about a new Montessori program coming to Hilton Head Island Early Childhood Center (HHIECC) during a community Montessori Information Night.

The informational session will introduce families to the Montessori approach to education, which emphasizes hands-on, engaging learning; independence and responsibility; and whole-child development through supportive, mixed-age classrooms.

The Montessori program will serve PreK and Kindergarten students and is open to all Beaufort County residents. HHIECC Students will also have the added option of onsite after-school childcare for the 2026–27 school year.

During the session, families will learn how Montessori classrooms support students by allowing them to learn at their own pace while fostering confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning. Information about enrollment, program design, and an extended-day option will also be shared.

“This program is designed to inspire independence and academic growth while nurturing the whole child in a developmentally appropriate environment,” said Ashley Gould, BCSD Director of Readiness.
