BEAUFORT – Veteran administrators have been selected to lead three Beaufort County School District (BCSD) schools. Chief Human Resources Officer Alice Walton announced the new principal selections for this fall during tonight’s Board of Education meeting. Two of the selections were internal candidates, and one was an external hire.
“Every exceptional district has strong school leaders...Their No. 1 priority will be moving academic achievement and ensuring our students succeed.”

The three new principals are:
- Lady’s Island Elementary School – Jason Osborne, current interim principal at Lady’s Island Elementary, replaces Davina Coleman, who now serves as the principal of Whale Branch Early College High School. Osborne began his educational career as a teacher and Instructional Coach at Broad River Elementary School, where he also served as a Master Teacher and International Baccalaureate Coordinator. He held the role of Assistant Principal at Lady’s Island Elementary for seven years. Osborne holds master’s degrees in Education in Administration from Grand Canyon University and Middle Grades Education from Clemson University.
- Beaufort High School – Ryan Walsh, an assistant principal at Bluffton Middle School, began his career as a middle school Social Studies teacher in Indian Head, MD and Estill, SC. He went on to serve as a Graduation Coach, Special Education Administrator, Master Teacher, and Assistant Principal in Varnville, SC. He also previously served as an assistant principal at Beaufort High School. Walsh holds a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from University of Texas Arlington.
- May River High School – KaRon Webb, Ed.D., replaces Todd Bornscheuer, who retired. Webb began his administrative career as an Assistant Administrator at Spring Valley High School in Columbia, SC and went on to serve as Assistant Principal in Chester, SC and as Principal of Ridge Spring-Montetta Middle/High School in Montetta, SC. Webb holds doctoral and master’s degrees in Education in Administration from South Carolina State University.
Interview committees were comprised of teacher leaders, feeder/cluster principals, School Improvement Council members, the Chief Human Resources Officer, a Human Resources representative, an Executive Director, and a representative of the district’s Instructional Services division. The high school interview committee also included student leaders. After each round of interviews, committee members rated the candidates and those ratings were submitted to Superintendent Rodriguez, who made the final recommendations submitted tonight to the Board of Education.
“Every exceptional district has strong school leaders, and I’m confident that these three educators will be successful in their new roles,” Rodriguez said. “They’re experienced, they understand the importance of hard work and the value of teamwork. Their No. 1 priority will be moving academic achievement and ensuring our students succeed.”
The district will also be selecting a new principal for Mossy Oaks Elementary School this summer.
