Frank Rodriguez named South Carolina Athletic Administrator Association Superintendent of the Year

COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Athletic Administrators Association (SCAAA) Board selected Beaufort County School District (BCSD) Superintendent Frank Rodriguez, Ph.D. as Superintendent of the Year (5A/4A) for “creating a distinctive school and/or district climate and culture for athletics through leadership, engagement and interaction having a positive influence on interscholastic athletics.  And, for demonstrating a willingness to ‘Go Above and Beyond’ for athletes and athletic programs.”

“Dr. Frank Rodriguez’s leadership has been transformative for Beaufort County School District’s athletics. From his roots in youth coaching to his current role as Superintendent, his dedication to student success, athletic facility excellence, and supporting educators and coaches has strengthened the district’s reputation and enriched its community,” said BCSD Athletic Director, Dr. Carlos Cave. “His passion for athletics as an educational tool has left a profound, lasting impact on Beaufort County, creating an environment where students can thrive both on and off the field.”

Mr. Haleem Barnes from Lady’s Island Middle School was also recognized as the 2024-25 SCAAA Middle School Athletic Director of Year for his “positive leadership and impact on interscholastic athletics as well as involvement and contributions to Region, Classification, and State athletics.”

 

In addition to SCAAA’s recent recognition, Dr. Rodriguez was previously named the 2025 South Carolina Superintendent of the Year by the SC Association of School Administrators (SCASA).
