May River High School Behavior Management Specialist named 2024-25 District Support Staff of the Year

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Tuesday, October 15, 2024

BEAUFORT – May River High School Behavior Management Specialist Jennifer Jones-Brown was named as the Beaufort County School District’s 2024-25 “Support Staff of the Year” at the district’s annual celebratory Support Staff breakfast.

Jones-Brown was selected based on an application consisting of essays describing her role within the district, how she contributes to student achievement, and how she inspires, motivates, challenges others, and encourages excellence.

May River High School Assistant Principal Carrie Carter emphasized Jones-Brown’s essential role at the school as “phenomenal,” going “above and beyond for everybody in a building with nearly 1,750 kids.” Carter explained that the relationship Jones-Brown builds with them is “just out of this world” and that she “can't think of a more deserving person.”

Overwhelmed with emotion after being named District Support Staff of the Year, Jones-Brown expressed her love for the job and the students.

“I love being a Shark at May River. We have the best staff out there, so it makes my job a lot easier and enjoyable to come to work every single day because I just love these people!” said Jones-Brown. “It's all about the kids. It's to see them grow, it's to see them have their wins, their moment in the sun of doing better, trying to be better, and ultimately to graduate- that's the goal and that's what we try to strive for every single day.”
