Description: Building Construction prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills in the building, inspecting, and maintaining of structures and related properties in an environmentally friendly way. With a focus on Natural Resources and Green Construction, students will also be exposed to instruction in masonry, carpentry, and electrical installation, building/construction finishing, management, inspection, and other construction-related applications

Electricity Pathway

Description: Electricity courses provide a survey of the theory, terminology, equipment, and practical experience in the skills needed for careers in the electrical field with a focus on renewable (clean) energy and its environmental impact. These courses typically include AC and DC circuits, safety, and the National Electrical Code and may cover such skills as those involved in building circuits; wiring residential, commercial, and/or industrial buildings; installing lighting, power circuits, and cables; and estimating job costs. As students’ progress, their projects become more complex and expansive. In these courses, safety is stressed, and a career exploration component may be offered.
