Parents, public can review proposed school
instructional materials in person and online

BEAUFORT – The public is invited to review textbooks and instructional materials that have been proposed for use in South Carolina’s public schools.

The instructional materials are on display at eighteen locations throughout the state – including at University of South Carolina Beaufort – from Oct. 23 through Nov. 23.  Instructions for submitting comments will be available at the USCB Bluffton Campus Library, located at 8 East Campus Drive.

In addition, digital access will be available for the recommended programs. The publisher-provided links will be posted online beginning October 23.

The State Board of Education will receive public comments before a final decision is made on adopting the instructional materials.  The materials will be recommended to the State Board for adoption on Dec. 11 by the Instructional Materials Review Panels appointed by the Board.
