CHANGEMAKERS is a bold and innovative magnet program within the Beaufort County School District, offering a unique opportunity for students on Hilton Head Island to experience a dynamic and globally focused education from elementary school through high school.
The journey begins with two exceptional elementary schools: Hilton Head Island Elementary, where students engage in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) with the option to pursue Dual Language Immersion in Spanish and Chinese; and Hilton Head Island School for the Creative Arts, where students explore learning through arts integration and STEM-based curricula. These distinct but complementary approaches give students a strong academic and creative foundation early on.
This educational pathway continues seamlessly through Hilton Head Island Middle School and Hilton Head Island High School. At the middle and early high school level, students participate in the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), which is fully integrated across all subjects. The MYP builds on students’ earlier learning by promoting interdisciplinary thinking, global engagement, and a commitment to service—preparing them for the academic demands of the renowned IB Diploma Programme (DP), as well as rigorous honors and Advanced Placement (AP) coursework in high school.
Throughout the CHANGEMAKERS experience, students deepen their learning through inquiry-based instruction, real-world problem-solving, and global exploration. With access to programs like AVID®, Project Lead The Way, and continued language development, CHANGEMAKERS students are equipped with the critical thinking, communication, and leadership skills needed to thrive in today’s interconnected world.
Grounded in evidence-based research, the CHANGEMAKERS program fosters a multi-disciplinary approach to learning that encourages curiosity, creativity, and collaboration.
