School Choice and Choice Programs

Our district-wide school choice program frees students from a one-size-fits-all learning model and offers them a customized program suited to their talents and interests. This learning model builds confidence, helps students increase their knowledge and skills, and puts them on a course for success in school and in life. Download the 2024-25 School Choice BookletFolleto de Elección de Escuela  and apply here

The School Choice window for the 2024-2025 school year closed on March 31, 2024. School Choice for the 2025-2026 school year will open on March 1, 2025.

If you have moved to Beaufort County or to a different location within Beaufort County after the deadline, you may still apply for a program of choice, provided you can furnish documentation of your move. The deadline for these late applications is the first day of school, and admission into programs is subject to availability. Please email choice transfer requests for assistance.

If your child loves the visual or performing arts, we have schools that fuse the arts with their academic lessons. If your child is interested in the Medical or Technology fields, our Magnet Schools Assistance Program (MedTech7) will provide them a unique opportunity to explore these industries through hands-on, real-world learning experiences. If your child has a talent for languages, we have schools that offer dual-language programs where students speak those languages in many of their academic classes. All district schools maintain a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics focus, as well as core subjects in the arts, world languages and technology.

Qualifying students can attend a school choice program, however, enrollment capacities will determine the ability to offer school choice to students outside their regular attendance zone.
