Right Choices

Gilbert Sanchez, Coordinator

Gil Sanchez

Gilbert “Gil” Sanchez, Coordinator of the Right Choices Program (RCP) and seasoned administrator, has been with the Beaufort County School District for almost 27 years.  Gil, and his team, have established goals for the RCP: a welcoming atmosphere and safe environment for every student, an open door/phone policy that invites students and stakeholders to share their insights, feedback, kudos and concerns, and championing supportive student-teacher relationships so every student thrives.

At Right Choices Program, we celebrate milestones and identify areas of improvement as we continue to build our program into the best alternative program possible to meet the needs of our unique population.

By providing students with an alternative educational setting and an opportunity to continue with their academic work, the RCP fosters student self-discipline, reinforces positive behavior, and encourages accountability so students have the tools to succeed in the classroom and beyond.

Gil received a MEd from Clemson University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Nebraska. While at Nebraska, Gil was an NCAA All-American wrestler. Gil attended high school in Wyoming where he was a two-time Wyoming state wrestling champion. Gil’s hobbies include: working out, woodwork, and fishing.

You can reach Gil by phone in the office at: 843-322-2580, on his work cell: 843-812-4737, or personal 843-812-8352, or by email at
