Kinems is a movement-based educational gaming platform for children with learning difficulties. Children play educational games for Math and Literacy using their bodies (gestures and movement of individual or multiple body parts -- fingers, hands, arms, legs, walking, jumping, balancing, etc.). Based on established occupational therapy protocols and learning methods, children improve their academic, cognitive and motor skills at the same time. The Orton-Gillingham Approach is a direct, explicit, multisensory, structured, sequential, diagnostic, and prescriptive way to teach literacy when reading, writing, and spelling does not come easily to individuals, such as those with dyslexia. It is most properly understood and practiced as an approach, not a method, program, or system.
