Student Health & Wellness
For students to have the opportunity to achieve personal, academic, developmental, and social success, we need to create positive, safe, and health-promoting learning environments at every level, in every setting, throughout the school year.
Research shows that two components: good nutrition and physical activity before, during, and after school are strongly correlated with positive student outcomes. Beaufort County School District is committed to providing a school environment that promotes student wellness, offers students access to proper nutrition and nutrition education, and provides regular and physical activity as part of the total learning experience.
For more information, please download the BCSD Student Wellness Policy and Smart Snacks in Schools Policy. SCDOE's Triennial Assessment Report sets goals for nutrition education and promotion, physical activity and other school-based activities that promote student wellness and helps district's establish policies for food and beverage marketing of only Smart Snacks-compliant foods. Proof of immunization must be provided to your school, without it, your student may be prevented from returning to school on time at the beginning of the year. For information about immunizations, please visit our webpage.
