School Nurses
School nurses bridge the gap between education and health. Their focus is on the student's health, which promotes and encourages attendance and enhances school achievement by modifying or removing any health-related barriers to learning. The school nurse is a liaison between students, family, school personnel, health care professionals, and the community, and an advocate for quality student-centered care that can advance academic success.
E-Pass
The E-pass is an electronic communication tool used in schools district-wide. It allows school staff to alert the school nurse that a student has a health need and is requesting to be seen in the health office. The nurse then replies to the staff member with an email or call to have the student sent to the health office providing timely communication with minimal interruption to instructional time. Emergencies are seen immediately in the health office.
